The US thrash metal band and the Swedish group In Flames staged concerts to remember in the last evening of Kaliakra Rock Fest in Bulgaria's town of Kavarna on Monday.

Slayer's drums have been transported from Germany because the band's demands were so high that no Balkan company could meet them.

In Flames is considered to be a pioneer of the melodic death metal genre. It was founded in 1990 as a side project of Jesper Stromblad, who was at the time in a death metal band called Ceremonial Oath. In 1993, Jesper decided to quit Ceremonial Oath due to musical differences and began focusing more on In Flames. That same year, Jesper recruited Glenn Ljungstrom and Johan Larsson to form the first official In Flames line-up.

Slayer was established by guitarists Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King in 1981. The group rose to fame as one of the leaders of the American thrash metal movement with their 1986 release, Reign in Blood, which has been called "the heaviest album of all time". The band is credited as one of the "Big Four" thrash metal bands, along with Metallica, Anthrax, and Megadeth.

On Sunday, more than 10,000 fans gathered to enjoy the amazing show of the rock legend Alice Cooper, who started his world tour exactly with the concert in Kavarna.

The horror performance included swords, throwing white necklaces in the audience, strait jacket the star was wrapped up in as well as a huge gallows.

At the end of the show, Cooper appeared at the stage, dressed in white tail-coat while hundreds of yellow and blue balloons were flying in the sky.

Kavarna hosted "Kaliakra Rock Fest" for the third time this year. It became known as one of the biggest rock events on the Balkans.
