An embezzlement indictment has been instituted against former CSKA Football Club President Alexander Tomov and the club's Executive and Finance Director Alexander Garibov after a three-hour long interrogation of Tomov.

Tomov was interrogated Wednesday morning at the National Investigation Service building. At the end of the three hours Tomov left the building confirming before reporters that both Garibov and himself have been indicted for embezzlement, but defiantly added that he was not guilty and he had not misused any of the Club's funds.

According to Tomov, the investigators have asked him only about a monetary transfer of EUR 3,5 M from the previous club owner to the new one.

Tomov stated that he was certain that the National Investigation Service would do a good job and that he would provide all necessary documents that investigators have requested.

Sofia Prosecutor's Office has officially accused the two officials of embezzling a total of EUR 5 M. According to the Prosecutor's Office the money had been transferred from Kremikovtsi to CSKA and later the amount of EUR 5 M had been transferred to offshore companies belonging to Tomov.

UEFA recently refused to renew CSKA license due to unpaid fees thus eliminating the club from participation in UEFA's Champions League.

Former President Tomov was forced into resignation by angry football fans threatening revenge.
