Bulgarian Members of the European Parliament met Monday with Deputy PM Meglena Plugchieva to discuss joint actions regarding the issues important for Bulgaria before the upcoming EC monitoring report.
The two-hour meeting was held at the Council of Ministers building in Sofia.
According to Euro Minister Gergana Grancharova and to Deputy PM Plugchieva, the issue regarding the 50 companies illegally receiving funds from EU programs and thus entering the so-called "black list" has not been on the agenda and has been mentioned only very briefly.
The same was confirmed by the European MP's Slavi Binev from the "Ataka" (Attack) Party and Dushana Zdravkova from the Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB) Party.
According to Grancharova, the common agreement that has been reached by the meeting's participants was the need to unite around some issues of national significance.
Deputy PM Plugchieva informed the participants about concrete tasks for her and her team, which, according to Grancharova, had become necessary due to the fact that this was Plugchieva's first contact with European MP's.
"We are not just an opposition, we are a constructive opposition, but only when we receive adequate reaction", "Ataka's" Binev said at the meeting.
Dushana Zdravkova from CEDB stated that she has given Plugchieva a list of eight questions and that she has submitted them in writing in order to avoid things being done hastily and with the only goal to report some activity before the EC. One of those questions concerns the country's failure to implement the emergency telephone line 112.
Zdravkova declined comments about the content of the impending EC monitoring report about Bulgaria.
The participants agreed to meet again in July.
