Darik Radio Wins Grand Prize at Prestigious Media Festival

Darik radio and DarikWeb group won several prestigious media awards at MEDIAMIXX 2008 Photo Sofia Photo Agency
Darik radio won the grand prize in the radio category at the media festival MEDIAMIXX 2008.
The prize was awarded for the material "History about Murder" of Nina Vassileva. Vassileva received the "Golden Umbrella" award.
A total of 14 "Golden Umbrella" awards were distributed at the official closing ceremony.
Martin Karbovski is one of the recipients and was awarded for his show "Otechestven Front" (Fatherland Front) in the "TV News and Documentaries" category. (Karbovski also hosts a Darik radio show - "Propaganda").
The reporter and well-known Bulgarian journalist Dimitri Ivanov also received a "Golden Umbrella" award for his overall contribution to the development of the media in Bulgaria.
The festival's president Georgi Kuzmov, in his closing remarks pointed out that the huge number of Internet sites participating in MEDIAMIXX 2008, had shown that the future really belongs to the "new" media.
MEDIAMIXX 2008 took place at the sea resort Albena from June 4 to the 8.
Friday, the group DarikWeb, part of the Darik radio media group, in a competition with nearly 200 other sites in 22 categories, won 3 first prices at the presigious international festival: DarikFinance.bg won first price in the "Business" category, DarikNews.bg was the winner in the "New Media" category, Log.bg was first in the "Society" category.
