The torrential rain and the hail that poured over Bulgaria's capital city of Sofia on Friday afternoon flooded all central boulevards and streets as well as the building of the Archeological Museum.
The traffic across the city has been blocked but there are no immediate reports of road accidents or victims.
Fallen branches and leaves impede the draining of the great quantity of rain water, Civil Defense teams said.
A thunder-clap hit a traffic light device in downtown Sofia setting it on fire, authorities reported.
The subway next to the Presidential building has also been flooded.
Dondukov, Bulgaria, Rakovski and Vitosha Boulevards have also been submerged and are currently impassable.
