The football team of Sofia Mayor Boyko Borisov beat the team of Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov 4-2 in a friendly game on Friday.

Borisov scored two goals for his municipal team in blue and even had a chance for hattrick after his spectacular fall in the penalty area resulted in a penalty kick. The Sofia mayor however missed his chance.

Luzhkov on the other hand managed to score only once, but critics said the Sofia municipality team dominated due to its younger age.

The game took place on the second day of the Bulgarian visit of Luzhkov, who came to the capital for the opening of The Days of Moscow in Sofia.

The event is part of the Year of Russia in Bulgaria project and features a series of public, political and cultural meetings.
