18-year-old Manuela Gorsova, who was left comatose after a fatal car crash caused by world ice-dancing champion Maxim Staviski in August 2007, has been transported to a clinic for rehabilitation in Israel.

Gorsova will be treated in the specialized Shiba Medical centre in capital Tel Aviv where the rehabilitation program will cost the family more than USD 1,000 a day.

Doctors are not able yet to predict if the treatment will have results.

The girl is in coma since August 5, 2007 when drunken Staviiski veered into the opposite lane and crashed headlong into another car with four people riding in it, killing the driver and injuring the others.

In the beginning of February, the sportsman was imposed a 2,5-year suspended sentence and five years to be served in probation over the deadly crash. Prosecution and families of the victims are appealing the sentence.
