The time for completing the planned repairs in some Sofia centre streets could be extended for several hours, Mayor Boyko Borisov said Wednesday during an inspection of the construction works.
"The prolonging will take place so that we can be sure the final results will be of great quality," Borissov explained.
He expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the district mayors follow closely the rebuilding process and the deputy mayor is constantly visiting the sites under construction.
Many drivers and pedestrians will have a reason to be angry with Sofia municipality in throughout the upcoming holidays as the repairs will disrupt traffic along 43 streets and boulevards in downtown the capital city.
A total of six streets will be fully asphalted and there will be mounted stakes to cease parking on many of the sidewalks in the region.
In the period April 29 - May 11, parking will be forbidden in the area between Sofia University building, Hristo Botev Boulevard and the corner of Vassil Levski and Patriarch Evtimii boulevards.
"The car owners, who live in the area concerned could leave their vehicles at the parking lots at Macedonia Square and the National Palace of Culture after paying only one lev a day," Deputy Mayor Velizar Stoilov has recently explained.
