The project of the Bulgarian Burgas Municipality "Let Us Unite Our Efforts" under the EU URBACT II Program envisaging partnership with five other European cities has been approved, the private Darik Radio reported.

Under the project a partnership network will be formed among the cities of Burgas (Bulgaria), Lille (France), Brussels (Belgium), Krakow (Poland), Florence (Italy), and Eindhoven (the Netherlands).

The administrations of the six cities are going to formulate together development plans for each one of them in the contemporary conditions of decentralization of local government, and accelerated urbanization.

The purpose of the project is to come up with measures for improving the administrative services and quality of life.

URBACT II is one of the programs of the European Territorial Cooperation for the realization of the "Regions for Economic Change" initiative. It aims to encourage inter-city cooperation and the use of best European practices for creating an integrated approach to urban development.
