World famous mezzo-soprano Teresa Berganza will sing at Bulgaria Hall on April 30 on the occasion of the Spanish Presidency of the European Union. The programme includes arias and songs by Italian and Spanish composers of the 18th-20th centuries. Berganza will be accompanied on the piano by her long-year concert partner Juan A. Alvarez Parejo. Berganza is celebrated for her roles in Rossini, Mozart, Hendel and Gluck operas. She is also a known interpreter of Spanish songs. Her virtuosity and refined technique, along with the bewitchingly mellifluous timbre of her voice, have elevated her to the rank of one of the leading mezzo-sopranos of our time, according to critics. The singer arrives in Sofia from Milan on April 26.
