One of the players in Bulgaria's ruling three-way coalition, centrist NMSP party, have been engaged in discussions over road safety in the country.
Deputy-chair of the party, Milen Velchev, commented that a public discussion with the participation of government institutions is also to be organized in order for measures for drastic improvement of road safety to be taken.
The party meeting was provoked by yet another horrific crash on Bulgarian roads that was reported on Sunday and claimed the lives of seven young people.

Experts claim the main reason for the tragedies is the lack of control exercised by the state institutions that makes drivers abuse their rights and violate the driving discipline.
Bulgaria has undertaken the engagement to significantly decrease the number of the people killed on its roads until 2010 in accordance with the limits adopted in the other EU member states.
