A Deputy PM without portfolio is to take responsibility for monitoring and coordination of the European funding for Bulgaria, deputy-chair of the NMSP party Milen Velchev announced after a meeting of the three-way ruling coalition.
The idea was approved by PM Sergey Stanishev, NMSP leader Simeon Saxe-Coburg, and MRF head Ahmed Dogan.
"The expectations of our partners from Brussels impose the implementation of structural changes in the Cabinet," Velchev also said after Friday's discussions.
On Tuesday, Stanishev took part in a meeting of the council of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), at which the socialists discussed the principles behind eventual structural reforms in the government.
Stanishev then declared that the efforts of the cabinet until the end of its mandate would be focused on the social sphere.
