Application for EU Rural Areas Grants Starts in Bulgaria: Application for EU Rural Areas Grants Starts in Bulgaria

The application procedure for grants under the EU Rural Areas Development Program was open in Bulgaria on Thursday.

All 28 regional directorates of the Executive Agency now accept applications for grants under the first two measures - "Creating of Farms by Young Farmers" and "Modernization of Farms".

The budget for Measure 1 is EUR 102 M, and for Measure 2 - EUR 1,4 B respectively. The total amount of EU money that Bulgaria will receive for the rural areas for 2007-2013 is EUR 3,24 B.

Persons between the age of 18 and 40, who are registered as agricultural producers, can apply under Measure 1. The maximum amount of the grant is EUR 25 000, paid in two installments.

Measure 2 "Modernization of Farms" has been designed to support projects providing for improvements of the overall activity of farms by introducing new technologies, preserving the environment, and meeting the EU standards.
