Bulgarian Authorities Take Safety Measures over Torrential Rains Forecast

Bulgaria Ministry of State Policy for Disasters and Incidents informed Monday local institutions in the western and central parts of the country over the meteorological forecasts of expected torrential rains in the next 24 hours.

The notifications sent to the regional structures, advice governors of doing their best to minimize risk of floods.

The pouring rains are expected to start falling over the country on Monday night and continue until Tuesday afternoon.

Data of Bulgaria's Academy of Science show the quantity of rain could reach up to 50 liters per square meter in some areas across the country.
