More than 15 Bulgarian movies are included in the program of the film fest to be opened Friday evening in New York.
The first film to be shown in the framework of the event is "Seamstresses", directed by Luydmil Todorov. Special guests at the pre miere will be the actresses Elen Koleva and Violeta Markovska, who play the main roles in the movie.
Among the other Bulgarian productions to be seen are "Fly by Rossinant", "Frozen Dream", "Small talks" as well as the documentaries "The translator of Black-and-White Movies"and "The Problem with the mosquitoes and other stories", which was given a special award at Karlovy Vary fest.
Several Balkan shorts, made in Romania, Croatia, Turkey and Greece, will also be shown to the NY audience.
The Bulgarian film fest will be closed on April 19 with Ranguel Valchanov's movies "Which Way Now?", shot 20 years ago and the new "Which Way Today?"
The fest has been organized by the Bulgarian actress Zhana Karaivanova, who is living in the USA, and will be held under the patronage of President Georgi Parvanov.
