Europe Direct information center was opened Monday by Sofia Mayor Boyko Borisov and the European Commission head Representative Zinaida Zlatanova in Bulgaria's capital city.
Sofia citizens now have the opportunity to receive information about EU programs, policies and their rights by visiting the new center.
"The future of every EU member-state is bond to the block's plans of its development," Mayor Borissov said.
A total of eleven Europe Direct centers will be open in the larger cities throughout Bulgaria.
The information from Europe Direct is also going to be available online, and through a free telephone line. The regional centers are going to organize trainings about how to prepare projects for EU funding.
Sofia center is located in downtown the city and is the second one opened as part of the net after that in Plovdiv.
