Bulgaria's Finance and Administration Ministers handed down their posts on Tuesday allowing students to step in for a day.

The unusual events were part of the international initiative "Manager For a Day", which is annually organized by "Junior Achievement - Bulgaria" to enable teenagers to experience one work day among prominent businessmen, state administration officials and representatives of non-governmental bodies.

The chair of the Junior Achievement's Board of Directors Sasha Bezuhanova, Finance Minister Plamen Oresharski and Sofia Deputy Mayor Yordanka Fandakova congratulated the youngesrs at the event's opening ceremony.

The position of trust in the Finance Ministry this year was taken by Preslav Mitranov, 17.

Along with the young "finance minister", the institution hosted several other students for the seventh year in a row.

At the same time, the Admistration Minister Nikolay Vassilev has also accepted his young assistant Dimitar Dimitrov, 16, a student from the seaside city of Varna.

The mayors of Bulgaria's second largest city of Plovdiv and the coastal Burgas have also given up their posts for a day to high-school students.

Young people took up the management of the regional administration offices in the towns of Veliko Tarnovo, Blagoevgrad, Sliven, Vratsa, etc.

Managers for a day were given the opportunity to enter also the head offices of the biggest country's companies, including McDonalds - Bulgaria.

More than 1,000 students from all over the country took part in the initiative.
