Bulgaria is to face a severe shortage of teachers within the next three years, the chair of the Union of Education Employers, Samuil Sheinin announced Monday.
According to the organisations, teachers quit their jobs on a mass scale due to the low wages, which would provoke crisis in education.
Many regions in Bulgaria already face shortage of teachers in computer science and languages, experts commented.
Bulgaria's teachers welcomed students back to the classrooms on November 6 after being off the job for six weeks in protest against low wages.
The strike turned out to be the biggest ever teachers' national protest in the country and was called off even though the cabinet and the trade unions failed to sign an agreement after numerous rounds of negotiations.
