The oldest Bulgarian monk and the librarian of the Zograf Monastery archimandrite Pahomiy died Monday at the age of 85.

Father Pahomiy lived in Athos for more than 40 year and many people called him "the living history" of the monastery.

He took care of the library, which keeps about 200,000 volumes of books.

Due to his work, archimandrite Pahomiy was awarded "St, Cyril and Methodius" order by Bulgaria's President Georgi Parvanov in 2005.
