The train, traveling in the same line but opposite direction like the machine, which burned and killed nine, was attacked and had some technical faults in the deadly night of February 28, Bulgaria's State Railways confirmed Monday.

First, the passengers on Kardam-Sofia night train heard strange noise and saw unknown attackers throwing different objects at some of the cars.

Later the train driver established there were some damage in the engine and stopped for about eight minutes to fix it.

Shortly after that there emerged the news about a burning train and all the compositions, moving in the same line, have been redirected.

For those reasons, the night train Kardam-Sofia reached its final destination with delay of three hours and a half.

Details on the problems with that machine have not been revealed for almost two weeks following the fatal blaze, which took the lives of nine passengers.
