The European Parliament has stood in silence for a minute in memory of the nine Bulgarians, who lost their lives in the hellish train fire a week ago.
The news was announced in a letter sent from Bulgaria's MEP Dushana Zdravkova to Detelina Nikolova - mayor of the town of Dobrich, where four of the blaze victims lived.
The consuls general of Russia and Poland have expressed their own and their fellow-citizens' condolences after the tragic death of the passengers in letters sent to the town's mayor.
Bulgaria paid its last respects to the victims on Wednesday when the government officially declared a day of mourning.
Valeria Zheleva, Daniel Vichev, prof. Rasho Rashev, Maya Masheva, Stoyan Kovachev, Kalcho Stefanov, Galina Ivanova, Elena Halacheva, and Antoaneta Todorova died after flames swept through two cars of a night train, traveling from the capital city of Sofia to the northern town of Kardam on February 28.
