The experts investigating the causes of the Sofia-Kardam train blaze last Thursday have reasons to believe the fire started in two different spots.

This was announced Thursday by the safety expert Slavcho Velkov in an interview for the Bulgarian National. Velkov also stated the terrorist attack hypothesis should not be dismissed without due investigation.

"Nowadays the terrorists choose untraditional means, and look for a public effect, not for economic damages. The terrorist attack hypothesis is not the leading one, we investigate all possibilities", Velkov said adding that prevention and control in the railway transport should be like the measures at airports because of the global terrorism.

He stressed that according to unofficial information, there were reasons to believe that the fire that burned the two carriages of the Sofia-Kardam train started in two separate spots.

Meanwhile, representatives of all parliamentary parties continue their consultations for the setting up of an inquiry committee to investigate the tragedy.

The opposition insists that committee should look into the exact causes of the fire, whereas the governing majority tabled a draft stating the MPs needed to check upon the legislation that has to do with railway transport safety.

Bulgaria's Transport Minister announced earlier that the investigation report on the train fire tragedy was expected later on Thursday.

He also said the Transport Ministry was going to provide the investigation with a railway carriage in order to allow the investigators to simulate the incident.
