About a hundred Bulgarian motorcyclists protested Monday in Sofia against the 25% vehicle tax hike planned by the capital's municipality.

According to protesters, the hike is not logical, as motorcycles are more ecological than cars and do not cause traffic jams.

"At the moment the tax for a 1000 cubic motorcycle is BGN 140, while the tax for a 22-seat bus is BGN 63, which is not fair," motorcyclists pointed out and added they are to continue riding without paying taxes if they are drastically increased.

Protesters also warned they are to start blocking major junctures if authorities neglect their demands.
