Serbs in Belgrade and the enclaves in Kosovo have staged numerous protests after Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence on Sunday.
Serbian media reported rallies in Belgrade turned into riots as protestors clashed with police and hurled stones at the US and Slovenian embassies.
Kosovo Serbs from Mitrovica prepared Monday massive demonstrations against the independence for the province, which is considered the cradle of Serbian statehood and religion.
The Union of Serb Municipalities in Kosovo announced it would also organize protests in the enclaves of Gracanica and Shterpce to oppose the independence.
The declaration, read by Kosovo Prime Minister and former guerrilla leader Hashim Thaci on Sunday, said the new country would be democratic and would respect the rights of all ethnic communities.
Thaci also declared the independence of Kosovo marks the end of the dissolution of the former Yugoslavia.
