Sofia Hosts UNESCO Committee Session on Cultural Heritage

Bulgaria's capital is to host an extraordinary session of UNESCO's Intergovernmental Committee over cultural heritage preservation.

The event, which will be held under the patronage of President Georgi Parvanov, is to be opened Monday at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia.

Delegates from more than 50 countries are to join the forum that will continue until February 22.

Among the main topics discussed will be the problems in the sphere of the intangible cultural heritage.
