Bulgaria's finance minister Plamen Oresharski will take part in the Ecofin meeting of EU finance ministers on Tuesday, the ministry's press service said.
The Council is to discuss implementation of the measures under the Stability and Growth Pact (SGP) of the European Union, which is related to the members' conduct of fiscal policy that aims at maintaining economic union of the bloc.
The Ecofin Council covers EU policy in a number of areas including economic policy coordination, economic surveillance, monitoring of member states' budgetary policy, as well as public finances.
The Council also prepares and adopts every year, together with the European Parliament, the budget of the European Union.
