A new Bulgarian movie was included in the selection of the Berlin Film Festival, which started Thursday.

Corridor #8 directed by Boris Despodov is the first Bulgarian film in six years to enter the official selection of the prestigious festival.

The film will have its world premiere in the Forum section of Berlinale and will have five more screenings until the end of the fest next Tuesday.

The International Forum of New Cinema is the most daring section of the Berlinale programme, as it features avant-garde, experimental, and generally unconventional films.

Corridor #8 tells a story about the prejudices and hopes of people of three Balkan countries, living near the route of a major transport corridor that is to be built by the EU but has been in its first stage of construction for the past 10 years.

At its preliminary screening the film has been warmly welcomed and producers hope it will have success at the current 58th edition of the Berlinale.
