Students from Bulgaria's Danube town of Silistra launched an initiative for giving kisses for cigarettes as part of a month of soberness.

Several youth organizations plan to make a poster from the tobacco products, which will read "Drugs cannot tell you "I love you".

A series of information, entertainment and sports event will be held in the framework of the soberness month, organizers said.

More than 60% of the youngsters in the town are smoking and a total of 83% drink alcohol regularly, show data of the Regional Inspectorate for Public Health Protection and Control.

The number of Silistra's young smokers has decreased since 2003, the survey revealed.
