Two children from a kindergarten in a prestigious Sofia district have been taken to hospital with symptoms of poisoning Tuesday night, two months after a similar emergency struck fourteen kids there.
In a small-scale repeat of the urgent situation in Lozenets district from the end of November, the blood tests of the two children have shown traces of the sedative lexotan.
The children have been released from hospital, but their treatment will continue at home.
At the end of November blood tests of 14 children, hospitalised with symptoms of poisoning, showed traces of sedatives, including lexotan, diazepam and nifedipine, used to treat high blood pressure.
Doctors assured that the condition of all children, aged about five, is stable and their life is not in danger.
It was not immediately clear how the pills ended up in the hands of the children, all of whom go to the same kindergarten in the Sofia district of Lozenets.
Police suspected that the medication may belong to a member of the kindergarten staff or may have been brought from home by one of the kids.
