A total of three lives were claimed in 18 heavy car crashes reported overnight across Bulgaria, according to the data of the country's Interior Ministry.

Other 22 people were injured in the hits, fortunately none of them in critical condition.

In the capital city of Sofia, the number of traffic accidents during the same period was 87, including two major car crashes, which left one person dead and one injured.

According to the ministry's statistics, 1003 people died on roads across Bulgaria during the last year.
