Russian Skier Crushed by Snowcat in Bulgaria

A Russian skier died crushed by a snow grooming machine on New Year's Eve in Bulgaria's Bansko resort.

The tragic incident happened about 6 p.m. when the runs were closed and snowcats were preparing them for the next day.

The 38-year-old victim was skiing behind the machines when he lost control and hit the back of a snowcat. The Russian was caught in the tracks of the groomer and died instantly.

The driver of the snowcat was found in shock after the incident.
