100 000 Bulgarians Celebrate New Year's Eve Abroad

More than 100 000 Bulgarians will celebrate New Year's Eve outside Bulgaria, the country's national tourist board said on Monday.

The top pick is neighbouring Greece, followed by the Caribbean islands, despite the fact that travellers to the Americas face at least one layoff on their way, since there are still no direct flights from Bulgaria to the Caribbean, the board said.

Jordan is another popular destination, while among the exotic locations, the leading positions are held by Venezuela and the Maldives.

The least expensive seasonal travel packages cost around EUR 350-400 per person, ranging up to EUR 10000 per person for travel packages to the Maldives.
