Culture Minister Stefan Danailov and EU Commissioner Meglena Kuneva are to bless Bulgaria's first and last babies born on the threshold of the New Year.
Data about the new-born children from across the country will be collected from midnight on December 31 until the same time on January 1.
Parents could register, mentioning the exact time and place of birth of their babies with a phone call on by e-mail.
About 230 babies are expected to be born in the hours around midnight on December 31, doctors said.
The nationwide campaign "Baby of the Year" takes place for the 9th time in a bid to boost birth rates.
