Sofia Mayor Boyko Borisov together with the manager of mobile operator MobilTel Josef Vinatzer opened Sunday in Sofia the biggest ice rink on the Balkans.

The ice rink is situated on the frozen Ariana lake in the central park of the capital and is a result of a joint initiative of the capital's municipality and the largest mobile operator in Bulgaria.

Hundreds of people gathered for the opening of the rink and Bulgaria's pop stars contributed to the party atmosphere on the ice.

The 1,200 square meters M-Tel rink will be open until March.
