State Administration Minister Nikolay Vassilev and his Education counterpart Daniel Valchev launched Tuesday the transliteration project "Comprehensible Bulgaria".

The initiative provides for strict rules of writing the names of geographical objects in Latin.

"As far as the proper names are concerned, the procedure is more liberal but as to the official names there should not be any differences," Minister Vassilev stressed.

"Bulgaria was one of the small number of countries that had no such a system," he added.

The right way of writing every Bulgarian sound in Latin will be described in tables to be placed in 3,000 schools across the country.

The table will be printed on brochures as well that are to be distributed on public places.
