Rescuers found Tuesday the body of a Bulgarian tourist, who had been missing since Saturday, lost in the Rila mountain.

The body of Kiril Kirilov, 40, was found in the area around the famous lakes of glacial origins in the highest mountain on the Balkans.

A total of 9 professional rescuers and more than 20 volunteers had been searching for Kirilov who disappeared after leaving the Rila Lakes chalet on his snowmobile.

A helicopter also joined the search on Monday after the weather conditions improved but the mountaineer was found frozen to death.

Rescuers advise tourists that they must be prepared for severe winter conditions and temperatures about -15 in the Bulgarian mountains.
