Bulgaria's Medics Protest over Low Payment

Bulgaria's medics from several hospitals in the country go out Friday on a silent protest against low salaries.

Nurses, assistants and obstetricians from Alexandrovska and Tsaritsa Yoanna hospitals in Sofia are to protest for an hour at noon.

Medics from hospitals in the towns of Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Botevgrad, and Dupnitsa will also stage silent protests.

Although Health Minister Radoslav Gaydarski have said that the salaries of the nurses are to be increased by 20% since January 1, medics announced that they are to start a national protest on December 13.
