Bulgaria's Environment and Waters Ministry has officially opened Wednesday the environment operational program for the period 2007-2013 after its financing was sealed with the EC on November 27.
The program, which is one of the seven to be financed by the EU structural funds and the European Regional Development Fund, has been launched by the Environment Minister Dzevdet Chakarov.
Bulgaria will be given the opportunity to absorb EUR 1,8 B on this program until 2013 for developing numerous ecological projects.
Purification of drinking and waste waters in residential places, populated by more than 2,000 people, garbage management and biological diversity recovery are among the priority projects to be accomplished using about 70% of the program's financing.
The rest of the money will be allocated to technical support for managing the operational program.
