Traffic across Kapitan Andreevo check point on the border with Turkey, in southeastern Bulgaria, remains disrupted after torrential rains left it under water on Monday.

The floods has cut the electricity supplies, but officials say the check point is expected to resume its operations on Wednesday after the waters of the swollen Maritsa river start to recede.

The traffic is currently diverted through the checkpoint Lesovo - Hamza Daily.

Life in Bulgaria is slowly recovering its normal pace, but the state of emergency remains in force in the municipalities of Radnevo, Galabovo and Opan, South-Central Bulgaria.
