The major boulevards in Bulgaria's second largest city of Plovdiv have been flooded Saturday night after the heavy rains that fell overnight across the country.
Only two crews are now trying to clean the pumping-shafts clogged by fallen leaves, authorities said.
There is risk of flooding the Ponedelnik Pazar subway, where lots of archaeological finds are situated.
The waters of Hrabrinska River have flooded Proslav subway after an electric pump was damaged as a result of the downpours.
Sections of the roads in front of the central graveyard and the Syndicate building are also flooded.
