Civil Defence regional directorate in Bulgaria's capital city of Sofia has been signalled over floods in 67 yards, basements and streets after the torrential rains that poured over whole country on Saturday night.

The water level of the rivers that flow through Sofia valley has increased significantly, authorities reported.

The electricity networks in Boyana and Manastirski livadi neighbourhoods have been damaged and experts are still working on fixing the problems.

A total of six crews performed rescue activities on the territory of Sofia on Sunday morning, including such in a rehabilitation hospital in Vladaya neighbourhood.
