EU Rules on Bulgaria, Romania CO2 Plans Friday

The European Commission announced it will decide on Friday whether to approve Bulgaria and Romania's allocation carbon dioxide plans, submitted under a directive that establishes the EU emissions trading scheme for greenhouse gases.

The decisions will cover the 2005-2007 trading period of the European Union's emissions trading scheme as well as the second phase period, which runs from 2008-2012.

The Commission will also take a decision on the amendments to Germany's national allocation plan for the 2008-2012 trading period.
