The heavy rainfall overnight in Bulgaria caused floods in the north-western part of the country, leaving several villages and towns submerged and without water supplies, Darik News reported.

The Beli Vit River went out of its bed and flooded ten houses in the Ribaritza village. Another 30 house yards and cellars were submerged under water.

In the town of Teteven 18 houses were flooded.

The citizens, together with Civil Defence units have already built temporary dikes to stop the water.
