University Lector Hit by Train in Bulgaria, Dies

A 63-year-old lector from Bulgaria's Shumen University died after he was hit by a train early on Thursday.

Simeon Parvulov was run over by the machine while he was crossing the railway line near Trakiya station.

The victim passed away hours after he was taken to a nearby hospital. The death came as a result of a serious skull-brain trauma, doctors said.

Simeon Parvulov has been teaching at Shumen University since 1974. He was an mathematical analyses assistant at Teacher Training College in the town.
