A total of three deans have submitted their candidatures for taking over the current Sofia University President Boyan Biolchev, whose term expires in about a month.

The deans of the History faculty Ivan Ilchev, of the Chemistry Ivan Petkov and the head of the Geology and Geography faculty, Petar Slaveykov are to compete for the highest academic position in Alma Mater.

The runners will present their managing platforms on October 24, 25 and 26 in the university's ceremonial hall.

The future president is to be elected at the General meeting of the Sofia University "Saint Kliment Ohridski", which will be held on November 14.
