Veterinary Services Locate Rotten Belgian Meat Imported to Bulgaria

The Bulgarian Veterinary Service has located the rotten Belgian meat that was imported to Bulgaria in a meat factory in Blagoevgrad.

Initial reports said the shipment with frozen meat gone bad is only 2.5 tons, but the one that was found in Blagoevgrad is 3.2 tons. The check of the veterinary service ascertained that the meat was unloaded in the factory on October 9 and it had undergone check in Belgium that stated it was fit for processing and consumption by people.

Secondary reports stated that the whole shipment of frozen meat was not ten but 17.5 tons, and most of it was transported to Greece. The meet was imported to Bulgaria by a Belgian company.

The owner of the Bulgarian meat plant claimed the truck of the Belgian company, which had to take the meat to Greece broke down near Blagoevgrad and he agreed to take part of the shipment as the truck that was sent from Greece could not load the whole 17.5 tons.

The frozen Belgian meat was seized for a thorough analysis.
