Bulgaria to Ask EU for Co-financing of Brucellosis Surveillance

Bulgaria would ask the EU to co-finance its program for surveillance and eradication of brucellosis, the Bulgarian National Radio reported Tuesday.

The Director General of the Bulgarian National Veterinary Service Zheko Baychev announced Bulgaria's plans at the session of the Standing Veterinary Committee at the European Commission in Lisbon.

The session's highlights are prevention of infectious diseases, efficiency of surveillance systems for them and compensations granted for culled animals during outbreaks.
