Three people were killed in a total of 25 heavy car crashes on Thursday night in Bulgaria.

A total of 28 passengers were injured in the accidents, including five whose condition is critical.

In capital Sofia, the number of traffic accidents during the same period was 146, including six major car accidents and resulting on eight other heavily wounded people.

The number of car accidents in Sofia has risen in the past two weeks as the holiday season is over and people come back to the city, where constant traffic jams result in annoyed drivers.
