Monument of independence was opened Saturday in the centre of Bulgaria's capital city of Sofia.

The sight has been made by Bulgaria's famous sculptor Georgi Chapkanov and architect Stanislav Konstantinov.

The monument, which is situated at Alexander I Square near the National Galery of Arts, represents a photo of King Ferdinand in front of Tsarevets fortress in the town of Veliko Tarnovo.

The value of the project is set at BGN 160,000 that was collected by donation of anonymous citizens.

The opening ceremony was held to mark the Independence Day in the country.
