The citizens of three villages near the Bulgarian town of Pernik blocked the road to Sofia on Friday, Darik News reported.
The citizens of Golyamo Buchino, Lyulin and Divotino blocked the road leading from Pernik to Sofia through Suhodol to protest against the construction of the Lyulin highway.
They also protested because there is no junction connecting their villages to the current main road.
For only half an hour of protest a huge line of automobiles and trucks was formed on the road. The Pernik Mayor Antoaneta Georgieva also took part in the rally and backed the protestors in their demand for the construction of a driveway connecting their villages to the future highway.
